Too Shy

These birds are too shy, however hush-hush I am, for me to easily capture them eye to eye. 

We have two thrushes that duel in song from opposite sides of our property. I creep up but as soon as I raise my lens they're off. I managed to get a mediocre shot of this one singing from an ash tree this morning.

We have a flock of bullfinches that I hear calling, "Phew, phew phew" all the time. I occasionally spot their white rumps as they take flight but they're notoriously difficult to capture. I did steal a lacklustre snap of a female today.
