Northern Cotton Bolls

Dear Diary,

The wind knocked some of the snow off the trees but because of the frigid temperatures, it's -7F here this morning, some of the snow hung on in these cotton boll shapes.  There won't be much melting today either as it will stay cold as another storm moves in late in the day through tomorrow.  Could be another 6+ inches of the white stuff.  Despite the bitter cold yesterday, it was a beautiful day, the kind of winter day that is ideal for winter activity like sledding and snowshoeing.  Tomorrow at this time it will be a much different thing.  Stocking up today!
