Stitches

Looking down at a funky candleholder that used to be in my grandparents’ house. The table runner is from a trip to Pakistan 17 years ago and was embroidered by an Afghan refugee. The vivid colors were all the brighter given some of the most desolate landscape I’d ever seen.

I’m a bit worried about my flight to Seattle tomorrow morning as we’re expecting a winter storm here. Nonetheless, am packed and ready.
