It’s a small thing

It’s a plectrum – it’s a small thing
A muse
So yesterday I restarted my journey to become the rock star that I’ve always been destined to become, some things were remembered, others were shall we say less accessible and already new things being learned. It’s a small beginning and still 9999 hours to go. It’s a small thing but it’s a start.
Teacher started me off with Hallelujah and a bit of finger picking, I’ll keep practicing until my fingers bleed.
This for me is a not a song that sits totally easily with, but the minor fall the major lift hooks me every time.
There’s one line that for me soars above the rest, like a breaking wave.
And love is not a victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah
Today in my news feed came an article about £300K being allocated by the council for shelter and housing for the homeless of the city. In my GP work these are amongst the people who I work for, £300K feels like a hallelujah to me but also not enough to address their needs or put right what has brought them to this place in their lives. £300K is I’m afraid a small thing, as is what I bring when they consult me but I remind myself again ….love is not a victory march, It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah in this work and much else in life.
These things we bring so often feel not enough, or it’s too hard, or too complex, in the gift though even if it's a small thing is always the possibility of Hallelujah.
