Getting a handle on nest building!

As there is a distinct lack of trees in Orkney, the poor rooks have to build their nests where they can, and out of whatever they can find. At least this pair found a tree, even if they couldn't find enough twigs to complete the task! Occasionally they end of nesting on the top of electricity poles. If they then use bits of wire to supplement their paucity of nesting materials, we end up with power cuts!

Been a good day today, we managed a good walk, a visit to my old neighbour, shopping for messages and a big pan of chicken soup!
