Lunch with Style
My Irish friend of many talents was back in Edinburgh for a visit and we had a get together this afternoon. We started proceedings with a lunch at the Apothecary because, as we said to each other, we are worth it.
The blip is of my friend’s plate of mussels. Not ordinary mussels, not even M&S mussels, no these were Shetland mussels. Need I say more? My plate of French onion soup followed by a steak the size of which I have not encountered for decades, were not as photogenic, and certainly not what I would be proud enough to publish in view of the current thinking on meat eating.
Because I hadn’t seen her since June, we had a lot of ground to cover. Had I not had to get ready for my book group tonight, our tongues might still be wagging. A great catch up afternoon.
