Therapeutic
This weekend, my family is preparing for my moms funeral. She passed away shortly before the holidays and we have given everyone the gift of time - to celebrate her life and influence, as we waited till after the holidays were over for the funeral.
I have been tasked with the photo boards and video to remember my moms life. It has been quite therapeutic to look through all the old photos and memories and cull them into some sort of story that would celebrate and honor this amazing woman.
Although I attempted to do my best, it wasn't quite coming together and I asked my daughter if she might help with the layout. My sweet girl, gently nudged me aside, said "you go Dad and do all the other things, I got this". To which I came down hours later and she was in the middle of personalizing the frame, grouping the photos and giving everything she has to honor her grandma. I had a moment (in this shot) to realize, we all need time to mourn, time to reflect and time to create those Therapeutic moments. She has spent hours on this project - it looks amazing and as my mom used to always tell her she was so kind, thoughtful and talented - I believe she is using this time to give one last gift to her Gran.
