Tomada de posse
Swearing in.
The presidential elections were won in October by the incumbent. The less detail about malpractice at polling stations and at the central commission, the better, although it’s well documented by some fearless reporters.
I think it’s standard practice to announce a public holiday for the swearing in of the new presidential term, in this case his second. However as this was only confirmed yesterday it didn’t lend itself to being able to enjoy the public holiday due to too many meetings and deadlines already racked up. As I’m still clinging onto New Year cheer and determination, I overcame the fact that it should have been more annoying to be working in a deserted office building. I made sure it was a productive day in the circumstances.
Whilst various messages from folk indicated they’d gallivanted off to the beach, I took solace in the company of this pigeon on the ledge.
