Off Street Parking

I stopped off on a traffic island to take this picture of the ships parked next to Market Street. I have always found it impressive to see the ships moored so close to the city street with the traffic passing just a few feet away.

Several years ago I did a harbour cruise. We were told the ships moored here are available to charter and more or less ready to sail at very short notice.

The sun had been shining an hour or so earlier, but by the time I was heading into Union Square to get the bus it seems the weather was already clouding over.

This was two exposures, one for the clouds and another for the foreground.  I did a cut and paste to combine the two images, and then added a bit of "drama", especially to the clouds!
