Lunchtime Snow

What a difference a few days make. I walked across this area into town at lunchtime on Wednesday on a dull yet mild day. Today it was snowing heavily and bitterly cold, and the reflections in the pond had disappeared under a layer of ice and snow.

I had promised Mum I would visit her in North Kent this weekend, so was anxiously watching the traffic reports on the M25. I finally left work in in the early afternoon, and sticking to the main roads had a relatively straight forward journey home. The predicted heavy snow had not reached her area which only had a lightish dusting compared to the start of my journey -however some of the side streets were like skating rinks: a sign of things to come methinks!
