In the Eye of the Beholder
We share our neighborhood with the Javalina or Collared Pecary.
The herds call the desert surrounding our golf course, home. If I’m up very early on trash day, I might see them running down the street. Tipping over the big green bins and gathering around for a snack.
The Javy’s musk glands are super strong. One wandered into our garage, and left his lingering scent for weeks.
Some find them ugly. But…Come on…..look at that face. That adorable terra cotta snout. Those impossibly small hooves. Plus the longest eyelashes you’ll ever see.
