Diary of an Edinburgher

Visiting!

Robert came today for his first stint on his own with Archie. JR had shown him the (preferred) walk last week, and he did the same one, and was very pleased with the step count (9,000-odd) on his iPhone 11 (which he didn’t know about). He was pleased, nay, relieved, that Archie did indeed stay with him and come back when called.

In the evening we popped over to Hazel's place for some bubbles and nibbles. This was the (usual) scene that greeted us. Flowers, candles, flickering fire, prosecco chilling... Perfect. It's good we can take Archie now - Hazel is very house proud, so dogs didn’t feature in her plans. But she’s got to know Archie. And Rufus. And the neigbour's new puppy, Goose, and her son's Frenchie, Hamish. Suddenly she's a dog lover! So Archie is now allowed to visit, but embarrassingly, he charged in and went straight to the kitchen looking for treats, as he does in Rufus's house. However, then he settled down to lick his bone all evening while we indulged. A most pleasant evening was spent catching up and dissecting Megxit at length. We are in agreement on this...
