Ice

The ice here looks very thin and delicate, yet when the dog pressed it with his paw it snapped and made a noise as if it were actually corrugated iron undergoing the same action.

Seemed to prompt the dog to break even more ice until most of it had broken the otherwise silence and lay in pieces in the field.
