Windy (Day 1712)

It was a bit blustery as I took the woofers up the hill this morning, but forecast to get much worse. I stopped briefly to get a quick snap on my phone before heading back home.
I had a, supposedly, quick job this morning. Changing the innards of a WC cistern. The design of the loo meant I had to remove the whole loo rather than just the cistern, which meant turning off all the water as the original installer hadn't thought an isolation valve would be a good idea. The original installer had also siliconed everything into the cistern, which meant scraping silicone off before I could fit the new bits. The plastic cistern bolts decided they couldn't be bothered anymore and snapped, as did the brackets on the floor. Which meant a trip to town for more bits. Then I spent a while chasing leaks around before finally getting everything watertight and re-fitting the loo. The customer also wanted me to sort the shower, which would have been a lot easier and quicker if the installer had thought about access for maintenance. My quick, easy job this morning stretched out until the middle of the afternoon.
Next was a trip to town to sort a leak, which was remarkably quick and easy.
The dogs and I are home alone for the next two nights because  my beautiful wife  is away at work. We will try to behave...
