Come in car 19...

Up early and out (for us) to the car hire place at the airport and (for the kids) to go-karting in Warrington with their cousins.  (TallGirl is not a speed merchant so was just watching.)

Freezing cold, for the spectators, but mercifully airy so not too fume-choked.  With that out of everyone's system, a relatively sedate drive north to Mam and Dad's, via the ever-busy Tebay services for cheese and bread.

Arrival in daylight was a plus (always a tense moment reversing the pristine hire car in the parking space between the garages - panicky moment when I got out and saw a broken brake light there - not mine though!)  Dinner, overheated TV watching and some bed shuffling to get everyone in a bed that does not hurt their back!
