Sentient Beings?....

These youngsters were fooling around in the estuary at low tide this evening. Someone caught a tiny flounder and there was some horseplay with a boy chasing a girl with the little fish. I intervened telling them that there has been research showing that fish have feelings and are sentient beings. Some of the kids took this very seriously and nodded their heads knowingly. Anyway they heeded my words and the tiny flounder was put back in the water. To swim to safety.
