Feathered friends

It really is such a benign land here, the birds show so little fear it’s as if cats had never happened on the evolutionary tree of life. It has one native poisonous spider that is so rare it has gained mythical status, no snakes, scorpions, dangerous plants or animals, not even nettles.
That really just leaves the sandfly who, apparently, much prefers the blood of penguins so all you have to do is hang out with the penguins and you’ll be fine.
Can I also just say a small something about the dogs here. They are such beautiful specimens and so well behaved, so well adjusted, so well exercised, don’t know what secret they have here but it’s quite something.
