Mike left early for a mountain bike adventure in the South Shropshire hills so I was in charge of kids, horses and dogs today. We had to drive all the way to Quorn just to feed a cat so we popped to the park for a little play so it didn't feel like such a wasted journey. Home for lunch and found a camembert in the fridge that needed eating so we baked that for lunch. Of course the whole sharing thing was difficult for T & E!

Early afternoon involved hunting in the loft for my old drawing pencils as Tobes is keen to do some drawing. He's done Charley and Alfie today. Then a visit to the yard to feed and check the Neds. Eva got stuck in, then sat in a bog so there were tears and a lot of screeching. I wasn't very sympathetic because she didn't need to walk through the boggiest part of the field but just had instead of spending time checking Jack. She just had to put up with it as we had the dogs in the car to walk. Had a nasty moment on the walk when Nell wriggled under a fence into a wood where they breed pheasants but fortunately she came straight back. All very muddy.
