Blackness Castle

We had a great time with our friends in Edinburgh last night. They live in Bruntsfield so right in the heart of things. Didn't really venture outside though, just enjoyed the hospitality and the chance to waken up to a lovely winter morning in the capital.

After brunch we set off home and decided to stop at Blackness to take the air. It was sunny and clear as you can see. Good walk on the beach (such as it is so far up river) and round by the castle. The abandoned pub has been reopened and, although we really didn't need anything to eat, managed a small something. The pub was doing a roaring trade and is dog friendly so I think we'll be back sometime.

Home now, it's dark so time to settle down for a quiet evening and early night.
