Wharram Percy
Woke up to rain this morning so decided on tackling some indoor jobs. Used the last of my pastry from yesterday to make lemon curd maids of honour. My tasters seem to approve. Cleaned out the fridge and gave it a clean. So by lunchtime I was looking for a break.
The weather perked up a bit so we travelled onto the Yorkshire Wolds above Malton for a walk. When I say walk it was more of a mud fest although the four paw drive of Jet made little of the conditions. Wharram Percy is perhaps one of the most well known of the deserted medieval villages. Each summer it was the destination of archaeologists who investigated the site over a number of years when I taught in Norton.
The light was not brilliant as the sun disappeared behind a bank of cloud. However I did manage to get this photo of the church.
