Serendipity

Flowers on the hall table.

Not mine, my mum's. Spotted them catching the sunshine when I went round earlier.

Apart form that nothing too photo worthy has passed my way today, so this will have to do. Oh, there is the first brave little snowdrop raising its head gamely in the garden but it has been a bit too blowy to get a decent snap of it.

I did, however, spend a good few minutes this afternoon updating the firmware on my Fuji lenses as I haven't used them for a while so I thought it would be a good thing to do.

In other news, I've very quickly realised that going to a camera with 26 (smaller) megapixels and no in-body stabilisation after one with 24 (larger) megapixels and excellent in-body stabilisation is going to make me sharpen up (pun intended) my now sloppy technique. Plus, combined with worse high ISO performance to boot I shall have to very quickly re-learn the art of steady hand holding at lower shutter speeds. Sounds like a backward step some might say?

Not me, I've got an aperture ring and a shutter speed dial back in my life. Just perfect! It feels like coming home.
