Needful Things

Unlike the shop of the same name in the Stephen King book none of the shops I visited today had exactly what I wanted. And to be fair, even though I'm a keen cyclist, I wouldn't pay the asking price in the book!

This bike isn't anything like what I'm looking for but, so far choice has been limited to alloy or carbon twitchy race bikes or mountain bikes.
I'm after a steel road bike with all day riding comfort (cos we old boys know "steel is real")
The day was not a complete loss as I have arranged callbacks from two dealers when my needful things come in so I can check fit and have a ride.
