In between

Tonight was going to be our moonlight snowshoe walk on Mt. Hood,
a Christmas gift from granddaughter Aspen. This afternoon the walk was cancelled due to the dangerous conditions up there. Ski areas were closing early on account of the high winds, road conditions were treacherous, some trees and limbs were falling under the weight of so much new snow.
We have been rescheduled to February. So instead of an exiting evening in the snowy woods, I made a little loop around the yard, captured the hummingbird on his usual perch in the lilac bush, and some bare limbs with raindrops, but John voted for this one.
