There is a proposal to build a bypass for the Great Western Highway, through, around, or under the Blackheath township. A lot of locals are up in arms about various options, particularly those that would require compulsory acquisition of houses, and division of the town. The tunnel option is generally favored by most - but, of course, it's very expensive.
This home is one that would be mown down for the most direct bypass route.
