Benj my youngest and Charlotte - the occasion was an evening out in Leeds meeting up with them and us meeting her parents for the first time, such a lovely time we had too.
You look at your kids sometimes and wonder how they got to be so amazing. Benj and Charlotte are so kind, maybe up there with the kindest people I know, not a soppy, looking to be loved back kind of kindness but one rooted in strong values and love, the world is better for these two.
A Tune
It’s great when friends prompt you to listen to music - it’s a while since I’d listened to Frank Turner til reminded recently and I’ve been listening to his most recent album the last couple of days. Frank a sort of folk/punk/country/singer/songwriter guy with a strong value based approach to life and his art. I love his belief in the best in people, though I’m not sure Rock and Roll will actually save the world, I admit that rockers and mods together might contribute to world peace. This the title track from his latest album seems to me like it could be a useful manifesto for these troubled times, Be More Kind - and not just to those who we find easy to love if we’re going to make the difference that’s needed.
Kindness isn’t a light and fluffy thing but a radical act of love in these troubled times, lets all be more kind and not just talk about it.

Extra bit of Kindness
Kindness also exerts its effects on the immune system, in an experiment at Havard University 132 students watched a 50minute video of Mother Teresa carrying out acts of kindness. Saliva swabs were taken before and after the video. The swabs showed an increase in IgA - an important part of the immune system to fight of bacteria and viruses.
