The Queen!
My beautiful mum.
My mum has late stage vascular dementia. We have good days and we have different days.
Mum no longer recognises relationship connections such as that I’m her daughter or that our newest addition is her great granddaughter. That’s ok though because we know who she is, our queen. Mum, nana and great grandma.
Happiest when the kids are around. Happy listening to her favourite music, and a stroll around the block with her beloved dogs weather permitting.
Bad days we take in our stride, hard at times, sometimes sad, frustrating but always end the day with an “I love you”.
We get by and we make different memories, some we forget and some we repeat endless times a day. We are a team. My Queen.
Iraqi update
Heard very briefly from matty today, a quick txt to say he’s safe and things are a little quieter on the base though tensions are high and they are still on full alert. They are waiting to see if the Iraqi government who are meeting today, are going to order all troops out of Iraq. His bosses think they will allow the brits to stay but order the Americans out. He wants to stay, we want him home. It’s out of our hands but he’s safe for now.
