Gozo 1551

In 1551, Gozo came under attack from the Turks and the people retreated to the citadel in Rabat (now known as Victoria). Sadly the citadel fell and around 5000 men, women and children were taken into slavery. This monument is to all those who died in the attack or in slavery away from their island home.
