Day working from home so I could oversee the installation of the final bit of the refurb...dark grey mirrored splashback in the kitchen (extra), and catch up on emails etc as well as pop things in and out of the oven ready for book group. First time I’ve hosted in the redone flat and, apart from the undercooked potatoes, it was a lovely evening. We were pretty chatty and raucous throughout (especially when we started trying to stand up without using hands from sitting on the floor), and all loved the book (Girl, Woman, Other by Bernadine Evaristo) which we felt was a worthy Booker winner but shouldn’t have had to share it.
Particularly pleased with the steak pie!
