To Bath last night to see the consummate storyteller, James Rowland's, Team Viking, the first in his trilogy. I was stunned by the third, Revelations, back in October.

After the show I heard someone ask James Rowland that second most irritating question, 'But is it true?' (The first most irritating is 'Where do you get your ideas from?'). I responded: 'It made me cry so it must be true,' which made him smile and the questioner confused.

Then I spent today in Bristol finding out first hand about conveyancing: how to inspect a property, transfer large amounts of money, exchange contracts and complete on the same day. You need a taxi. It wasn't for me, but it was good practice. Between the contract exchange and completion I went to St Nicholas's market and ate a lunch I have been promising myself for many months.
