The Only Way is Essex

Today was B-day - Bertie Bus day.  I'd arranged to drive to Lookers Ford in Chelmsford Essex, to pick Bertie up at 12pm and as they'd agreed to take the little Merc in part-exchange, there was no need for Alan to take the time off work so I drove up there on my own.

It's a two hour drive and I got there about 12.15pm, we sorted the paperwork out and checked over the car, handed in the papers and keys for the merc, and then I was taken to the post office to tax Bertie - it couldn't be done online as he had previously been registered as Motability vehicle and it can only be done at the post office when it’s a change of ownership. Luckily the post office was quiet, so we were in and out.

On the way back to the garage we passed this lovely house on the lake so I decided to drive back there before heading home - Boreham House was built in 1730, was bought by Henry Ford in 1931 and currently it's available to hire for weddings.

My journey home was ok traffic wise, and Bertie was lovely to drive.  I got home about 4.15pm and am pretty tired tonight, but it was a 4 hour round trip.

Anyway, it's the weekend, hope you have a good one!
