And So It Begins

The Up Helly Aa season is upon us and as is the case the second Friday in January sees the Scalloway Fire Festival. I'm now a fair weather Up Helly Aa watcher and this evening was not going to be that as the wind was blowing hard and some heavy rain with us. 

The galley for tonight's burning was on show for much of the day and it had a nice touch as one side of the galley had shields that were obviously designed by children (see extra)
