Ice Entry
This is one of the entries to the Zhao Lin Park Ice and Snow site. This was the original location for the Harbin Ice and Snow Festival until it grew too big and the main park is now across the river. This is about a 5 minute walk from where I now live in Harbin.
This wall is made entirely from blocks of ice that have been cut out of the Songhua River. As with most of the ice sculptures, as it is being built, florescent lights are set inside so the can be lit up at night. They are amazingly beautiful when they are lit up. You can get an idea of the size of the wall by the bus in the lower right side of the picture.
Viewed in large will give you a better idea of the sculpting that is done on the exterior of the wall.
