Hanging on

The branch has almost snapped off and the leaves are dead, but why do they cling on?  I thought they'd make an interesting colour pop.

A wander over the back, which is waterlogged and then back around the road and up the Avenue.  I must remember to count how many Chestnut trees there are now, probably around twenty.  We've lost three in the past few years and are definitely going to start replanting, although it doesn't appear that any of the species are either canker or moth resistant.
