Pickled Cucumber

We tried picking our surplus cucumbers tonight. We have tried eating them and giving them away but they still keep growing! The only thing was to try pickling them so they don't go to waste.

Fortunately the cucumber vines are starting to look a bit played out. Not that I don't like cucumbers, but we have been somewhat inundated.

I spoke to my Mum on Skype in Surrey this morning where it is snowing. Seems strange that we are having heat wave after heat wave here, with no rain and no rain forecast for the next week. It has been a dry old summer here.
