Let's be friends

Not a great photo but the only one I have today.

I meant to go out with the walking group this morning, but I woke feeling a bit ropy with a sore throat and decided not to risk it. We had a full day anyway, Spanish class and then late lunch with friends S and T, who arrived yesterday from France to spend six weeks here in a house in the old barrio de San Miguel, a stone's throw from the house we stayed in the first time we came to Almuñecar. This is a cat we met on the way to the restaurant.

Last night's intercambio was crazy -- there were about 50 people there. Leader Mercedes went pale when she arrived and saw the crowd. Especially as there were only about 10 native Spanish speakers. She even had to rope S in to be an honorary Spanish person. The noise level was outrageous: our group of three eventually retreated to sit at the bar where the noise was slightly filtered and we could just about have a conversation. It's a victim of its own success. But maybe numbers will drop off again as the year progresses.
