Roughed out

Glued the front on the mast yesterday and with today’s sunshine and mild temperatures I was looking forward to planing it to shape.
I started planing the front to size prior to cutting the chamfers when halfway through the planer made a dreadful noise and got very hot. Spent the next hour investigating what had happened and it looks like one of the bearings has seized. As it is over 30 years old spares are not easy to come by.
So I cut the chamfers and left it at that. A new Makita hobby range planer is due in Screwfix tomorrow.
