Midnight breakdown

A painting on the wall at my parents' house. This was painted by my grandfather, Arthur Kendall, who was a mechanic at the Meredith and Drew factory in Ashby de la Zouch. He has described what it shows on the back: 'Midnight breakdown on the Watling Street. Atkinson 8 wheeler has rear wheel bearing failure on the A5 north of Dunstable (year about 1951). Painted from memory by A. E. Kendall, M and D fleet mechanic (Ret. 1965)'. A wonderful piece of history.
