Backblip: R Mira

Vila Nova de Milfontes sits on the final reach of the River Mira. It is really utterly beautiful here. The bikes are getting plenty of use as the campsite is around 8 kilometres out of town. The ride is, er, exhilarating... and my bits are black and blue. Luckily, I have not yet fallen off - but on the dirt and sand roads, it has been a close run thing at times. The ankle-biting dogs are quite terrifying.

The sunshine seems interminable. The days are warm, even hot in the sun, but the nights are proving to be a little chilly although we have had no rain since our arrival here.

We are enjoying exploring the town but the shopping opportunities are limited and our diet is suffering.

I am spending much time in reading, sitting out in the sun. A hard life, but somebody has to do it.
