Underneath The Arch

In order to try and make sense of this chaotic woodland scene, I picked out a definite structure, i.e. the bent over bough forming an arch, hoping to give the eye a place to begin exploring the image.

I then looked for something to frame within the arch, but failed to find anything worthy. In lieu of that, I hoped the brighter area off to the right where the trees thin out, would provide a path through the image. Even though not viewed through the arch, the implied route is under it.

I also brightened the snowy area in the distance directly ahead through the arch, which seems to create an alternative centre of interest and consequently a bit of tension.
