Surprise

We have grown an amaryllis from a bulb at Christmas for years.  We have usually gotten it from the garden store where we bought our "real" Christmas tree. This year, I finally gave in and bought an artificial tree- prelit- which I LOVE- but not from the garden store.  T bought an amaryllis when he was out and about.  When I opened the box, it was all curled up, growing.   In fact, part of the flower was out- and dried up.  So he went back to the garden store where they had several boxes that hadn't been bought.  They had opened the boxes because the stem was growing. Our plant was already about 8-10 inches high and the buds were ready to pop.  So it was fast to blooming. The funny thing is, when I was taking pictures today, I noticed that the was a fifth bud coming out.  It is weirdly shaped, but there it is.  Strange.
