Our Street in Rio

Back blip - not sure how I didn't put this blip on at the time!

This is one for our records really and to show that Rio isn't all beach, but amazing plants, trees and flowers!  We just love our street and appreciate the location as it's one of the quieter residential streets, but still just 5 mins from the beach. 

We spent the morning sending our Christmas letter out and for the first time in 29 years most of them were sent electronically.  The ones that we're posting are now on their way around the world. 

We headed into the centre to go to Bar Brazil, a traditional eating place and when we arrived there we realised it's not the place we thought it was and where we'd been before!  Anyway, we had a nice lunch as it was a similar type of place - an old-fashioned type 'botiquim' restaurant.  Then wandered out and found a fun area nearby and booked a table at a samba place for the 1st of Jan. With the insight of back blipping (!) we now know we cancelled the booking as thought it would be too much excitement in one day to have lunch in Ipanema and then go to a samba place at night!
