West Wanaka Station

A good turnout of walkers today, about 20 of us.  We parked by the lake at West Wanaka Station, and walked from there towards Calquhouns Beach.  I walked 12,000 steps, about 9 k all up, and 75 floors, which meant a lot of up and down hill walking.  This blip photo I took at the old West Wanaka Station Jetty, which was used to bring in supplies and take out the wool clip.  It isn't used these days, as there is no water near the jetty.

The first extra is of the frog pond.  There were hundreds of frogs croaking merrily when we arrived, when we got back there was hardly one croak to be heard.  The second extra is of a girl pushing her bike up the hill.  Love the Kanuka bushes in the background.

We had a welcome cuppa at a local cafe before heading for home.  Another successful walk.  +14 with a cool breeze.

We will now take down the Christmas Tree, as it is 12th night.
