Cabalgata de los Reyes

Today is the big day, when the Magi arrive loaded with presents for children. You get to choose which king to ask; perhaps if you haven't been good one of them is more lenient. S was not bothered about going to the parade, so I decided to go after dark this time. The photos can't convey the crowds and tremendous racket: sound systems on every float for the dancers to dance to, and the shrieking of the crowds packing the pavements. Showers of bullet-hard sweets, plus the occasional football, were hurled into the crowd. All very Spanish! See last year's blip for more info.

It's much harder taking photos in the dark than it was last year in daylight. Also I didn't take my big girl's camera (the Nikon), which would probably have produced better results. I took 120 photos and deleted most of them. This isn't sharp, but I like her expression. There's a small Flickr album with the best of the rest.

Tagging this for the Blipfoto seasonal challenge, BCDecHol.
