Christmas Past

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellows,

Today is the last day of the Christmas holiday. Sometimes I wish we didn't get holidays. I adapt too well, too quickly to them. In the past couple of weeks my body clock has drifted toward later nights and lying in.

Tomorrow is going to be a bit of a shock to the system, is what I am trying to say.

On our last day we made the mistake of watching Jojo Rabbit. Not that I'm saying that it is a bad film. Actually it's a brilliant film, as you would expect from Taika Waititi, but while it is a funny comedy, most of the time, there is an absolute gut-punch of a moment in the film. Worse than "Togo". Much much worse. I am talking "Ponette" levels of devastation here*.

I was warned. Lemon took her kids to see the film last year and she said she spent the rest of that weekend explaining it to them. Mind you, I'm made of sterner stuff than a ten-year-old. So I thought.

Other than that, a fairly inconsequential day. I've been doing the social media stuff for the podcast and will put out a short introduction to it this week. (The podcast hosts recommend this for reasons I don't understand, but hey).

I'll be sure to let you all know when it is out there. I've decided that this will be the subject of the first proper episode. It is an exceptionally silly film that contains many willy jokes, and is therefore far more suitable for both myself, and for any ten-year-olds.

S.

* Fat Pete, I am sure, still remembers the "Ponette" incident, and how long it took me to recover from that film.
