Rosie

I met Rosie and Buddy, his dog, on the street this morning.  Rosie has been homeless for over two years since he moved to Oregon from Colorado.  "It's hard living out here and even harder to get cleaned up for a job interview." Rosie talked about the recent city ordinance banning camping on public property.  "We have to move every few days.  From one street to the next." 

Right now the city of Salem has over 1800 people living on the streets and less than 300 hundred shelter beds available.  It's a genuine crisis that is not being addressed in any meaningful way at this time.
