Polar Bears!

We have a tradition (having done it twice before) to have what we Canadians call a polar bear dip on New Year’s Day. It was hard to do this on the 1st because the hut was a bit of a walk from the beach and clear open sand was a further walk, which makes for a long, uphill journey back to the warmth. We rectified this by starting this morning with the dip. It sure was cold for us polar bears! The air temperature was only 5 degrees and I don’t like to think what the water temperature was but it sure gets the heart pumping! You really know you’re alive in cold water, even if you can’t feel your toes...

We had a good afternoon making arrangements for future plans and then Tim took the train back to London. Thank you Tim for a wonderful fortnight.

Backblips start here.
