Last

My last day here...started with a long visit to the play park with AR and Mx, pushing AR on the swing (“I don’t have energy for moving my legs”), not watching them whizz round on the roundabout to avoid feeling dizzy, and bouncing Mx on the see saw. They played happily for much longer than I expected, and even detoured to play football on the way home.
After some coffee I then headed to town with K to change a couple of things and have a browse...strange to see a couple of big shops closing down and a new car park since I was last there. We had a good wander and natter.
Home and was supposed to be packing but sat down with a cup of tea and watched the Masterchef final with Mt&H whilst Mx played with his wooden pretend BBQ set and AR made play doh unicorns.
Over to T&Kt’s to collect them and go to Ampthill for supper. The village was looking really lovely with simple strings of white lights everywhere and a big tree in the centre. There are some lovely restaurants and shops here all in really pretty old buildings. Should come more often really. Had a lovely Italian meal and chatted on about our ideal food and drink (a la Off the Menu podcast format), dinners we’ve had and places we’ve visited...Lovely evening but hardly a diet style start to the new year!
