The C......e Ring of Confidence!

Not sure how many of you remember the advert that my title refers to....but as GK and I travelled down the highway this afternoon....the Burj Khalifa just shone with that brilliant Ring of Confidence!!!

It turned my thinking to all the adverts I'd ever watched in the whole of my life especially the ones that have really etched their way into my mind.

My all time favourite is "That Condor Moment" when Sir is sitting enjoying peace and quiet beside a duck pond.......only to be interrupted by two noisy lads with their remote controlled speedboat winging its way across the pond scattering the ducks in all directions. Undeterred...Sir reaches into his pocket and from the depths of the reed bed activates his remote control nuclear sub sending its lethal torpedo straight to its target....and silence reigns supreme once more!

Then there's the Gold Blend romantic serial with the girl upstairs.....which kept us watching and waiting for the next episode.....afraid to go out and make the customary cuppa in case it came on and we missed the continuing story!!

Hovis and the early morning bike ride, Andrex and the over playful pup, the 'way too perfect Oxo' family and the amazing Typhoo Tea Chimps!

Am sure you all have your own special memories that have had you glued to the screen and on the edge of your seats.

Oh the might and power of the advertising media when you find yourself wistfully sitting with a cupboard full of Gold Blend.....just waiting for that knock on the door!!!

This of course has absolutely nothing to do with the Burj Khalifa!!!! but no harm in a bit of nostalgia now and again....as thoughts flow!!
