Skating on thin ice

I had to go across to the doctor's today for a blood test, so I braved the roads which were pretty much clear, and even took the scenic route on the way back, calling in at the car park at the end of the nature trail to see if I could get a shot. I got a few that were quite nice, but mostly stuff I've already blipped quite recently, so I decided to go with this pair of mallards who were slithering about on the small dam nearby, which was about 75% frozen.
Off to a friend's this evening to watch a film. Not sure of the wisdom of that, as it's just started to snow. I'm not risking taking the car, as we both live on steep hills, so it's boots and (hopefully) buses.
