New Years: Please let me go to Italy this year

Last year, Dan and I had planned to go to Italy. I've never bee there but he has had the good fortune to go a number of times. His mother got ill and the trip never happened. I'm praying it happens this year. I've loved the culinary traditions of Italy. Is the food in Italy really what I make? 

For New Years' I made homemade pizza, cooked in an iron skilled. I made a homemade ricotta base for one of the pizzas. For dessert, I made a Cappuccino Semifreddo with Almond Biscotti (pictured here). Twas a lot of work but delicious.

My friend, who is diabetic, tested my blood sugar afterwards. I was fine!  Funny thing to do but he is a scientist.
